Pay to Play helps pickup organizers collect the player fee before someone gets a spot. Players pay from the event, and BenchApp checks them IN after payment is complete.
π This feature requires BenchApp PRO. You also need a connected Stripe account so BenchApp can process credit card payments.
Step 1: Connect credit card payments
Go to Team Settings.
Open Fees & Finances.
Find Accept Credit Card Payments and click or tap Configure.
Finish the Stripe setup.
Need the full setup guide? See Can I accept credit card payments from my players and spares?
Step 2: Set your pickup fee
In Spare Fees, enter the Spare Fee amount.
Turn on Track Spare Fee if you want BenchApp to track the fee automatically when spares are invited.
Step 3: Turn on Pre Pay Required
In Payment Settings, turn on Pre Pay Required.
Players will need to pay before they can check IN when Pay to Play applies.
Step 4: Choose who covers payment fees
Use Cover Payment Fees to decide whether the processing fee is added on top of the player fee, or taken out of the amount you receive.
See What does it cost me to accept credit cards? for the current fee details.
Step 5: What players see
When Pay to Play applies, the event RSVP button shows Pay with the amount due instead of a normal check-IN button. After payment is complete, BenchApp checks the player IN.
