How do I import my roster from CSV or Excel?

Add a whole roster at once from a spreadsheet.

Use roster import when you already have your players in a spreadsheet and want to add them to BenchApp in one pass.

This is for managers and assistant managers building or updating a team roster. Players with an email address receive instructions to log in; players who already have BenchApp accounts are linked to your team automatically.

Step 1: Open the roster importer

  1. Go to Roster.

  2. Click Add (on the web) or tap + (in the app).

  3. Choose Import from CSV/Excel (web) or Import via CSV/Excel (app).

Step 2: Download and complete the template

  1. Download the Microsoft Excel or CSV from the import screen.

  2. Fill in your players — Name and Class are required; email, phone, jersey number and position are optional. Add an email if you want them to be able to log in.

Step 3: Upload and review your file

  1. Click or tap Upload a file (or drag the file in on the web). Files up to 10 MB in .csv, .xlsx or .xls are accepted.

  2. Review the players BenchApp found, then save them to your roster.

Tip: Players who already have a BenchApp account under the email you import are linked to your team and notified — they don't get a second account.
