How do I post a team poll?

Create a team poll, choose who can vote, and review responses in BenchApp.

Team polls let managers ask a question and collect quick responses from players. They are useful for jersey votes, scheduling decisions, team preferences, tournament planning, or any question where you want answers tracked in one place.

This guide is for managers and assistant managers creating a poll for their team.

πŸ‘‘ This feature requires BenchApp PRO. You must be a manager or assistant manager to create polls.

Step 1: Open Polls

  1. Go to Polls.

  2. Click or tap New.

Step 2: Add the poll question and answers

  1. Enter the poll question in the Title field.

  2. Add at least two answer options.

Step 3: Choose who can vote

Use Visibility to decide who should see and answer the poll:

  • Everyone: all team members who can access the team.

  • Roster Only: players on your main roster.

  • Roster and Spares: roster players plus spare players.

Step 4: Publish the poll

  1. Turn on Pin on Dashboard if you want the poll to stay easy to find.

  2. Click or tap Post.

Step 5: Vote and view results

Players can open the poll and choose one answer. BenchApp shows the vote count and percentage for each option. Managers can see responses from the poll details page, and players can see results after they vote.

Tip: Keep poll options short and specific. For example, use 6:30 PM, 7:00 PM, and 7:30 PM instead of long sentences when you are voting on a start time.

Step 6: Archive a poll when you are done

When a poll is no longer needed, open it from Polls and choose Archive. Archiving removes it from the active poll list without changing past responses.

Tip: Need a longer announcement instead of a quick vote? Use a team bulletin. Use polls when you want structured answers, and bulletins when you want to share information.
