Player classes tell BenchApp how each person should be treated for attendance, invitations and notifications.

Managers set a class when adding someone and can change it at any time from the player's Edit page, under Type.

Regular players. They receive attendance requests and game-day reminders for every event.

Extra players you can call on when you're short. Spares don't get regular attendance requests, but they can be invited to individual games — automatically or by hand — and can join the waitlist when an event is full.

People who should see team updates but never check IN or OUT — parents, fans, family.

Coaches, trainers and other non-playing staff. They receive team communication but aren't counted as players for attendance.

Temporary classes for roster players who are away. They stay on the roster and keep their history, but don't receive attendance requests while the class is active. Switch them back to Roster when they return.
