How do I start a new league season?

Create a season, make it current, and bring your teams and players across.

Use this guide when one season ends and the next one starts. A new season starts empty, so you choose what comes across.

This is for league managers and assistant managers.

What carries over

  • Teams and rosters don't copy on their own. Bring them across with Import Teams in Step 4.

  • Divisions belong to each season. Importing a team also creates its division in the new season.

  • Schedule and fees start fresh. Games and player fees stay with the season they belong to.

  • Player waiver is set per season, so the new season's waiver starts blank.

  • Registration fee and Cutoff Date are league settings, so they stay the same.

  • Registration link changes. Each season has its own link.

Step 1: Create the season

  1. On the web, click Settings in the league sidebar, then Manage Seasons. In the app, open the menu, tap League Settings, then tap Seasons.

  2. Click + Add Season. In the app, tap +.

  3. Enter the season name.

  4. Add a Start Date and End Date if you want them.

  5. Click or tap Done.

Step 2: Make it the current season

The current season is the one your registration link and player waiver use.

  1. On the web, go to Settings and open Current Season. In the app, open the menu, tap League Settings, tap General, then tap Current Season.

  2. Choose the new season under Current Season. It saves right away.

Step 3: Switch to the new season

The season you work in is picked in the team switcher. Teams, Divisions and Import Teams show the season you pick here.

  1. Open the team switcher. On the web it's at the top of the sidebar. In the app it's at the top of Home.

  2. Choose the new season under Seasons.

Step 4: Bring your teams across

Imported teams keep their name, logo and division. Their active players come with them, and team managers stay managers.

  1. Go to Teams and click Import Teams. In the app, tap •••, then Import Teams.

  2. Check the teams you want from earlier seasons.

  3. Click or tap Import.

Tip: Teams with players count toward your League PRO team limit, so imported teams do too.

Step 5: Finish registration and payments

  1. On the web, open Settings, then Registration. In the app, tap League Settings, General, then Registration. Enter the Player Waiver for the new season.

  2. Copy the new Registration Link and share it with players.

  3. Open Fees & Finances and check that Stripe is connected for the new season. Payment processing is set up per season.

Archive an old season

Archiving a season also archives every team and player in it.

  1. Go to Manage Seasons.

  2. Click Archive next to the season. In the app, press and hold the season, then tap Archive.

  3. Confirm with Archive.

To bring a season back, click or tap Unarchive in the Archived list. Seasons can't be deleted.
