A note about the recent downtime

Dear BenchApp Users,

As most of you are well aware, we had some pretty serious downtime over the last week. This was caused by a number of issues, all stemming from our recent surge in growth. As a start-up, this is a great problem to have. As a solo founder, this is incredibly stressful. BenchApp is not a large corporation and a dedicated IT team. It is me and two developers. Only one of which is full time and remote, the other part time and also remote. We also have a few specialists that volunteer their time and their skillset to helping improve BenchApp.

In the end, the recent downtime was a result of a single script that caused a majority of the issues. We have patched this script and have optimized how it works.

We are also in the midst of a complete re-write of BenchApp from top to bottom with the goal of improving speed and reliablity. We will be ushering in a more advanced system that will be easier to build upon, so we can continue to offer more innovative features to make everyone's sporting lives easier.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank you all for your patience. We appreciate every one of you that have written in to let me know when things are not working and for being understanding when we are fixing the issues. We're working as fast as we can to get BenchApp running as smoothly as possible.

We have big plans for a bright future and we hope you'll come along for the ride!
