Use Dark Team and Light Team when you are running a pickup, drop-in, weekly skate, or scrimmage and need to split checked-in players into two sides before the event starts.
👑 This feature requires BenchApp PRO. You must be a manager or assistant manager to set Dark and Light teams.
Step 1: Make sure the event supports Dark and Light teams
Dark and Light teams appear for Scrimmage and Drop-In style events. If the event is currently a regular game, edit the event type first.
Step 2: Open the event
Go to Schedule.
Open the pickup, drop-in, or scrimmage event.
Step 3: Open Lines
Click or tap Lines.
BenchApp opens the lineup editor for that event.
Step 4: Build Dark Team and Light Team
Use Dark Team for players wearing dark jerseys.
Use Light Team for players wearing white or light jerseys.
Move players into the side you want them on.
Step 5: Randomize teams if needed
To split players quickly, open the lineup menu and choose Randomize Teams. BenchApp creates Dark and Light teams for you, and you can still move players manually afterward.
Step 6: Reuse or reset the setup
For recurring pickup games, open the next event, go to Lines, and use Copy Previous Lines if you want to start from the last setup.
If you need to start over, use Reset Lines from the lineup menu.
